Form New Traditions This Holiday Season with the Chinese Lantern Festival

Do not miss the return of the Chinese Lantern Festival to Centennial Olympic Park on Wednesday, January 1st—New Year’s Day!

Bringing 25 decorative lanterns, handcrafted giant flowers, a three-story pagoda and a 200-foot-long Chinese dragon to Centennial Olympic Park, it’s a fun experience for the entire family! All of the colorful creations featured in the Chinese Lantern Festival are constructed by artisans from China and will make the Park come alive each night.

New to this year’s festival are interactive lanterns that visitors can touch and experience up close. The festival also promises nightly entertainment, including acrobatics, dancers, theatrical performances, and more. Craftsmen will be stationed at booths throughout the Park to create items ranging from edible sugar dragons to Chinese paintings. 2019 will also include the Atlanta ChristKindl Market– A celebration of German culture featuring traditional products such as ornaments, toys, and decorations, culinary delights, and entertainment!

“We are pleased to host the Chinese Lantern Festival, as Centennial Olympic Park is continuously striving to add new features that serve the interests of the community. We believe the Chinese Lantern Festival will be a favorite attraction this holiday season,” said Joe Bocherer, GWCCA’s Chief Commercial Officer.
