3 Food Trucks Worth Checking Out in Atlanta

Food trucks were all the rage when they hit the Atlanta dining scene nearly a decade ago. Now, with the need to find solid takeout food options during the pandemic, these mobile kitchens are making a serious comeback. From wildly creative French fry combos to southern takes on fried seafood, these culinary institutions have kept us happily fed well before the pandemic – and continue to do so today. Here are our top 3 favorites at Woodhaven at Park Bridge Apartments:

Punchos’s Late-Nite Fry Trap

Fresh cut fries with toppings beyond your wildest imagination can be found on the eclectic menu of Puncho’s Late-Night Fry Trap. While not technically a food truck, this French fry operation is more of a roving takeout joint. Order online, choose the cash payment method, wait until the order is confirmed, and then pay. The pickup location is sent upon payment. Upon arrival at the designated pick-up spot, Puncho’s will deliver those fries straight to the car. Don’t forget to try “Seafood Shawty” with wild-caught shrimp, sauteed crab, fresh garlic, herbs, and Cajun aioli over garden fries.

Let’s Taco Bout It

The name says it all – this food truck is about that taco life! Let’s Taco Bout It operates mainly out of their location in Doraville, but their food truck does make appearances at spots around Atlanta, including Truck and Tap. According to their website, their “tacos reflect [their] love for many different types of cuisine: Indian, Korean, Mexican, American, and many others.” You will find generous portions that are crafted with the utmost attention to detail. Our personal favorite is the traditional Carne Asada with grilled flank steak, cilantro chimichurri, red onion, cilantro, and chihuahua cheese!

Bankhead Seafood

Backed by Atlanta-based rappers and entrepreneurs Michael “Killer Mike” Render and Clifford “T.I.” Harris, Bankhead Seafood is one of the most popular food trucks in Atlanta – and for good reason. You can catch this rolling culinary favorite around Southwest Atlanta, including at Triton Yards on Sylvan Road. When you happen to catch it around town, give the namesake “Bankhead Platter” a try! It includes southern-style fried whole fish filets, fried shrimp, hushpuppies, and French fries.
